Focused time. Deep healing. Real change.
Focused, extended therapy designed to create more time and space for meaningful therapeutic work.
Request an Intensive ConsultationA therapy intensive is a concentrated form of therapy that provides extended, uninterrupted sessions over one or more days to allow for deeper and more focused healing work. Traditional sessions can sometimes end just as the deeper work is beginning — you settle in, something meaningful opens up, and then it is time to stop.
Clapp Therapy Intensives offers two formats of intensive therapy in Pennsylvania. Neither format is better than the other — the right fit depends on your needs, goals, the complexity of the work, and the time you have available.
Shorter, concentrated therapy sessions lasting approximately 90 minutes to one full day. These are designed for clients who want more time than a traditional therapy session to work on a specific concern, therapeutic goal, or area of focus without committing to a multi-day intensive.
Ask About a Focused Therapy IntensiveMore immersive, multi-day therapy intensives designed for clients who may benefit from extended time, preparation, and sustained therapeutic work over several days.
Explore Comprehensive Therapy IntensivesWhy might someone choose this instead of only weekly therapy? Therapy intensives offer concentrated support for individuals who feel stuck, face complex challenges, or want meaningful change in a shorter timeframe than traditional weekly sessions.
Clients who feel stuck in weekly therapy, are navigating OCD or PTSD, or are carrying complex, layered concerns that need more room than a 50-minute hour allows.
Extended therapy sessions keep you in the work rather than restarting each week, which can be especially valuable for EMDR intensive and ERP intensive treatment.
Concentrated blocks of therapy can be scheduled around work, school, travel, and caregiving instead of stretching across many months.
Together, these findings support the effectiveness of focused, uninterrupted therapeutic work. Research describes general patterns and does not guarantee any particular outcome; your experience is unique to you.

Licensed Professional Counselor · 14 years of counseling experience
I am a licensed professional counselor with 14 years of experience working with clients across a wide range of concerns. Over time, I have honed my practice to specialize in the treatment of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). My work in these areas has shown me how frequently OCD and PTSD intersect and reinforce one another, which is why I often use an integrated approach to address both.
In addition to my professional training, I am deeply committed to my own personal therapeutic work. I know firsthand what it is like to sit in the client chair, and I bring that perspective into every session. My treatment modalities include Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP/EXRP), Prolonged Exposure (PE) and Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT). I am also IFS-informed and enjoy exploring and integrating different parts that come into play for each client. I draw from these evidence-based approaches in an eclectic and thoughtful way, always guided by each client’s unique needs.
My approach is highly client-centered. While I bring extensive knowledge and experience, I believe that you are the expert on yourself. I value curiosity, collaboration, and truly getting to know each client so we can tailor therapy in a way that feels effective, supportive, and meaningful to you.
Focused Therapy Intensives range from approximately 90 minutes to a half-day or full day. They are designed for clients who want a concentrated block of therapy focused on a specific therapeutic goal, concern, or area of work without committing to a multi-day intensive — such as EMDR intensive work, OCD/ERP-related treatment, or processing a particular event.

Multi-day intensive therapy that unfolds in four clear steps, from a free consultation through your follow-up session.

Step 1
Free 20-minute phone consult
Connect with Veronica for a free 20-minute phone consult to explore your goals and ensure we’re a good fit. During this time, we will discuss where your symptoms impact you the most to determine what treatment modalities/locations may work best for you—at home, via telehealth, in office, field trips, or a mix of all of the above! (Field trips and home visits are available in Pennsylvania only).

Step 2
2–3 hours · $150/hr
In this stage, Veronica will meet with you in person or via telehealth to better get to know you, understand your experiences, and clarify your goals for trauma and/or OCD treatment. We’ll use evidence-based assessments to better understand symptom severity, trauma history, and—when relevant—patterns of obsessions, compulsions, and avoidance, so we can create a plan that truly fits your needs.

Step 3
$1,150/day (6 hrs of therapy per day)
We will spend 2-5 days working on your intensive goals together. This can take place via telehealth, in person at my office, or via field trips that can be planned for OCD treatment using EXRP or PE for PTSD. All field trips will be tailored specifically to you. If you have OCD or trauma that affects your home life, we can also make arrangements for me to come to you and do PE and/or EXRP in your home space (in PA only).

Step 4
Included with Intensive
This follow-up includes a one-hour session—ideally scheduled about one month after your intensive—held in person or via telehealth. We’ll check in on your progress, celebrate your growth, and refresh key skills from your intensive as needed. The cost of this session is included in your intensive package.
Many clients are able to use Health Savings Account (HSA) funds to pay for therapy intensives. Because individual HSA plans and tax situations vary, we recommend checking with your HSA administrator or tax advisor to confirm your eligibility.
The setting is chosen together, based on your clinical needs and therapeutic goals.
A traditional, private office environment.
Clients must be physically located in Pennsylvania during telehealth sessions; PA residency is not required.
Clinically appropriate EXRP or PE work in carefully selected settings outside the office.
Home-based work where clinically appropriate and available.
Field trips and home visits are available in Pennsylvania only. Locations are discussed and planned in advance to ensure they align with clinical needs, comfort, and safety.

Not sure which intensive is right for you? You do not need to know before reaching out. We can discuss what you hope to work on and determine whether a Focused Therapy Intensive, Comprehensive Therapy Intensive, or another therapy option may be the best fit.
